I had been wanting to try a Riesling since the Riesling episode of last week's videos, but unfortunately was not impressed. Perhaps I expected a lot, but it just did not provide the punch and excitement I was ready for. Sweet, but tart, it was an interesting mix that I enjoyed to my own surprise, but there was something missing for me. I picked up some melon hints on the palate, but overall was a bit disappointed. I'd like to try some more Rieslings though, especially from Germany, as I have a feeling those will provide the bigger punch I am hoping for.
